Alamar Blue Assay Toxys is routinely running various cytotoxicity assays, including cell survival by relative cell count, MTT and Alamar blue metabolic cell viability stains and the clonogenic cell survival assay. The Alamar blue assay provides a rapid and sensitive quantitative analysis on cell proliferation and apoptosis. Apoptosis is assessed by flow cytometric analysis of caspase activity, Annexin V staining or TUNEL assay.
ToxProfiler MAX Mitotox Assessment Xtension
ToxProfiler™ is a unique human in vitro assay that combines seven stable fluorescent reporter genes and can provide an extensive toxicological profile of novel drugs and chemicals.
Clonogenic Survival Assay Toxys is routinely running various cytotoxicity assays, including cell survival by relative cell count, MTT and Alamar blue metabolic cell viability stains and the clonogenic cell survival assay. The clonogenic survival assay measures the effect of compounds on the proliferating ability of cells. Apoptosis is assessed by flow cytometric analysis of caspase activity, Annexin V staining or TUNEL assay.
ToxProfiler Mechanistic toxicity profiling.
ToxProfilerTM is a unique New Approach Method (NAM) that provides an extensive and quantitative toxicological profile of novel pharmaceutical, (agro)chemical and cosmetic compounds.
ReproTracker® Animal-free developmental toxicity predictions.
ReproTracker® is a state-of-the-art human stem cell-based in vitro assay that rapidly and reliably identifies developmental toxicity hazards of new drugs and chemicals. The assay captures the key cellular events of stem cell differentiation and early embryonic development.
In Vitro Comet Assay The comet assay can be used to detect DNA damage. We perform the comet assay in the ToxTracker cells, the DNA Repair-Profiler cell lines and other human cell lines.
Automated Micronucleus screening Automated Micronucleus screening
The in vitro micronucleus test assesses induction of chromosomal damage upon chemical exposure. Micronuclei are cytoplasmic chromosomes or chromosome fragments that result from DNA strand breaks or incorrect chromosome segregation during cell division. The micronucleus test detects genotoxic substances with clastogenic and aneugenic activity.
ReproTracker Service Animal-free developmental toxicity predictions
ReproTracker® is a state-of-the-art human stem cell-based in vitro assay that rapidly and reliably identifies developmental toxicity hazards of new drugs and chemicals. The assay captures the key cellular events of stem cell differentiation and early embryonic development.
Hprt Mutation Assays DNA damage can lead to the induction of gene mutations. Mutagenesis is the driving force behind the development of various genetic diseases including cancer. Toxys has a longstanding experience in various mammalian gene mutation assays.
DNA Repair-Profiler Insights into DNA Repair and Genotoxicity.
DNA Repair-Profiler consists of a unique collection of mammalian cell lines, each with a deficiency in one of the major DNA repair pathways.
Biomodels - Custom Models Following your inspiration, we design and develop new models combining your expertise and our know-how. The custom model is first established and tested by our team and subsequently transferred to your lab. Our team will then provide support with your organs-on-chip experiments.
Biomodels - Efficacy Models Our efficacy models predict the effect of potential drug candidates in preclinical phases, allow to identify new therapeutic targets, and can be applied for personalized medicine approaches.
Biomodels - Toxicity Models By tuning cellular complexity, our toxicity models allow to identify cell-specific adverse-effects.
SCREENflex Stable Recombinant Cell Line Service Customised mammalian stable cell lines (CHO, HEK293 or custom cells) with stable and homogenous expression of your target.
CRO Services We manage a wide variety of services associated with research studies.

Alternatives to Animal Testing
Inhalation Toxicology The EpiAirway in vitro tissue model is used to determine the IC-75 value (concentration required to reduce tissue viability to 75% of vehicle control-treated tissues) of a test chemical.
Oral Irritation The in vitro EpiOral (buccal) and EpiGingival (gingival) MTT ET-50 assay is used as a screen to assign expected irritancy responses compared to benchmark controls based on the time to toxicity (ET-50) results obtained with EpiOral and EpiGingival. This assay is also used to rank order oral formulations according to their irritation potential.

MatTek offers the EpiOral and EpiGingival buccal irritation tests as non-GLP services.
Eye Irritation Test (OECD TG 492) The EpiOcular Eye Irritation Test predicts the acute eye irritation potential of a topically applied chemical or formulation by measurement of its cytotoxic effect of the EpiOcular cornea epithelial model. This in vitro hazard assessment allows for the identification of chemicals (substances and mixtures) not requiring classification and labeling for eye irritation or serious eye damage in accordance with UN GHS.
Phototoxicity (OECD TG 498) The EpiDerm Phototoxicity Assay measures acute toxic response after exposure of skin to certain chemicals and subsequent exposure to light or that is induced similarly by skin irradiation after systemic administration of a chemical substance. The test is based upon a comparison of the cytotoxicity of a chemical when tested with and without additional exposure to a nontoxic dose of UVA + visible light and is accepted by the OECD as a stand-alone in vitro phototoxicity test.
Skin Corrosion (OECD TG 431) The EpiDerm Skin Corrosion Test is able to reliably discriminate chemicals that are corrosive to skin from non-corrosive chemicals and can be used for the classification of skin corrosion hazard according to the GHS System adopted by the OECD.
